Abstract [sv]

The purpose of this study is, with bases of theories in changeprocesses within psychotherapy, to describe, interpret and analyse some psychotherapists experiences of changeprocesses. Data was collected from six psychotherapists through semi- structured interview guidance. With changeprocess means that the therapist experience something knew with reference on the patient behaviour, thought and feeling. Analysis of interview answers showed that certain “events” in the intersubjective interaction was linked to change processes. Example of events that all psychotherapists claim lead to change was recurrent planed interruption in psychotherapy, such as vacation. The interruption were often followed by an intensive emotional phase which is described to lead up to patients changing her way of seeing herself. And then gradually developing flexibility in her way thinking which did not exist before the beginning of therapy. All therapists described the psychotherapeutic regular contact and attitude of the therapist, the so-called “frame”, were the conclusive conditions which explained that the patient got cantact with his feelings.
