A Murderer's "Fancy Prose Style" - The Unreliable Narration in Vladimir Nabokov‟s Lolita
Högskolan i Halmstad, Sektionen för humaniora (HUM).
2011 (engelsk)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 poäng / 15 hpOppgave
Abstract [en]

The narrator in Lolita can easily be perceived as trustworthy and sympathetic after a first reading of the novel. However, after a second reading of Lolita, numerous signs of unreliability are arguably detected, and are therefore well-worth examining further in order to enlighten the narrator‟s true function. The aim of this essay is to explore the unreliability of the narrator and protagonist Humbert Humbert in Lolita.
