Abstract [en]
In this essay, my aim is to explore if women use more formal language than men in journalistic articles, and if this is the fact, strive to define in which aspects the women are more formal. I will also give possible explanations for the differences between the genders that is present some current theories on why women tend to be more formal in their use of language than men, and also why men, on the other hand appear to prefer informal forms of language.
