Abstract [sv]
In association with Svenska Kraftnät, a large Swedish owner of fiber optical net, our bachelor thesis has been formed. To achieve a good error remedy, a thorough plan is necessary. Today, this is not to be found in all cases. Our assignment have been to present a specification for a central helpdesk for the fiber optical net. A database belonging to the helpdesk shall contain maps and fiber information. To reach a good result, we have compared the different systems that today exist among the big operators in Sweden. Along with our own ideas we have reached a result, wich we choose to present in a demonstration database. Fundamental facts about fiber optics are also included in the thesis. To achieve a common Swedish infrastructure we consider that a co-ordination of the error remedy for the different operators is essential. The helpdesk would function as a central part of the business and provide the fiber optical net good structure. The main task for this helpdesk should be to receive error reports, to give priority to errors and handle documentation along with co-ordination of the communication with contractors.
