Abstract [en]
The problem of shadow-disturbance from windpowerplants is becoming more evident every day since the number of plants is steadily increasing. The shadows, which occur as sunrays pass through the rotorblades, are annoying to the people living in the nearby area and could even jeopardise their health. During planning of new plant-installations computerprograms are used to calculate the affects on the surrounding area. This includes calculations of when and how long the risk of shadows occur. These intervals are stored into an electronic memory, and then they are used with an lightintensitsy-sensor and a signal that indicates when the rotor is turning. These three together determin when the risk of disturbance is immenent, and when so they transmit a signal to stop the rotor untill conitions improve.
