Abstract [en]

In this study, I have compared macroinvertebrate communities in three wetlands, were the Wetland Research Centre in Halmstad regularly measures the phosphorus and nitrogen in the wetlands. The purpose of this study was to investigate if there were any differences in the number of species and the number of individuals between the wetlands and to compare the functional feeding group composition. The sampling was done at 20 sampling points in each wetland with a students water net. Lilla Böslid constructed in 1991, showed significantly lower number of species and individuals than the other wetlands which were constructed in 2000 and 2002 respectively. This result is most likely due to the old age and the uniform vegetation of common reed around the wetland Lilla Böslid. There was also significantly higher proportion of shredders than in the other wetlands.
